  • We've obsessed over every detail to minimize the risk as much as possible.

    We pride ourselves on having the strictest acne-safe standards on the market. The formula has been carefully crafted for ultra-sensitive, acne-prone skin and clinically tested (HRIPT) to be non-sensitizing.

    That said, everyone’s skin is unique, so we can’t make guarantees. Please see our patch testing guide if you have any concerns.

  • Everyone's definition of "clean" differs but at Delicate Matter, we're committed to never using the following:

    - Parabens
    - Phthalates
    - Formaldehyde
    - 1,4‑Dioxane
    - Mineral oils
    - Sulfates (SLS, SLES)
    - Toluene
    - Hydroquinone
    - Resorcinol
    - Triclosan / Triclocarban
    - Octinoxate, Octocrylene
    - PFAS/PFCs (e.g. PTFE, PFOA)
    - Nitromusks / polycyclic musks
    - Cyclic silicones like D4, D5, D6
    - BHA, BHT
    - Bisphenol A (BPA) and related compounds
    - Coal tar, methylene chloride, butoxyethanol, methylchloroisothiazolinone/MI
    - Mercury compounds
    - Lead
    - Fragrance
    - Talc

  • Our formula does not contain any ingredients commonly avoided during pregnancy.

    That said, every pregnancy is unique. If you have specific concerns, we always recommend sharing the ingredient list with your OB to ensure it aligns with your personal care plan.

  • Absolutely. Zero fragrance ever.

  • We intentionally use dimethicone and a few of its derivatives. Though often misunderstood, dimethicone is one of the most well-studied and tolerated ingredients for sensitive, acne-prone skin. 

    Clinically proven to be non-comedogenic and non-irritating, it forms a breathable barrier that locks in hydration, calms irritation, and supports healing—without clogging pores. It also helps maintain an oxygen-rich environment, which discourages acne-causing bacteria.

    Especially helpful for those using treatments like benzoyl peroxide or retinoids, dimethicone soothes and protects while enhancing the performance of other calming ingredients.

  • Our pigment dispersions are designed to be flexible, so it adjusts beautifully to your skin tone.

    If you’re deciding between two shades, we recommend choosing the lighter one. And if you’d like to buy both, you’ll receive a discount on your second shade at checkout.

  • Our Skin Tint offers buildable light to medium coverage.

  • Our lightweight, airless packaging reduces our carbon footprint and is designed to fully empty, minimizing waste. Because recycling rules vary, we recommend dropping off your empties at a Pact recycling bin near you here.

Shipping & Returns

  • Orders ship within 48 hours of purchase. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email from us with tracking information.

  • You'll receive an email with your tracking information once your order has shipped (typically within 48 hours of the purchase date).

  • We currently ship everywhere in the continental U.S.

  • We accept returns on unopened products within 30 days of purchase. To request a return or exchange, email hello@delicatematterbeauty.com with "RETURN" in the subject line. Include your name, order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return. Shipping fees are not eligible for refund.

    If there is a defect or problem with an item you've received, please email hello@delicatematterbeauty.com with your name, order number, and the issue with your item.

  • Please email hello@delicatematterbeauty.com with "CANCEL ORDER" in the subject line with the order number as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that we'll be able to cancel your order as it may have already been shipped out.
